PACK LIST

If you're planning on skiing, here's a list of highly recommended items to pack or consider purchasing when you get here:

  • long johns, long underwear or silk underwear
  • ski pants or a ski bib, but if you don't have those, see the 2 items listed below
    • pants like sweatpants or workout pants
    • waterproof or water repellent pants
  • a longsleeved shirt
  • a shell (it's essentially a waterproof windbreaker)
  • a thick, weather resistant coat, NOT wool
  • long warm socks
  • very comfortable shoes, or snow boots if you have them
  • layered gloves if you have them, otherwise just a waterproof set will be fine
  • ski goggles, preferably, but dark snug sunglasses will work in a pinch
  • a hat that will cover your ears; beanies are perfect
  • sunscreen for your face
  • ID & credit/debit card or cash (will need these for rentals)

• Altitude Adjustments & Packing Suggestions •

The biggest thing to remember in Colorado is that the air is thin and very dry. You will lose your breath more easily up here when doing everyday things, so exercising vigorously before you come will help a little. We highly recommend to keep yourself hydrated unless you are used to the dry climate. Don't be surprised if you experience dehydration headaches, nose bleeds, super dry skin and chapped lips. So here's a short list of stuff to consider packing for your trip up here:
  • Headache medicine, whichever brand you prefer
  • Dramamine can sometimes help with altitude sickness
  • Extra tissues or a small thing of Vaseline to help with the dry noses
  • A light jacket or sweater for the evenings up here because they are significantly cooler (except in the summer)
  • Sunscreen. We're a lot closer to the sun than most places in the US
